Plan the truck and the charging together

A suitable electric forklift needs an energy arrangement that fits the working day.

Talk to IVS

Describe the actual workload

Record daily operating hours, the number of shifts and when the truck can stop. Distinguish a truck that is available all day from one that drives and lifts continuously. Include seasonal peaks and any change in demand you expect.

Give IVS these details alongside load weight, lift height and the working environment. They help narrow the equipment, battery and charger combination worth discussing.

Compare the complete battery arrangement

Battery technology is one part of the decision. Capacity, charger output, operating intensity and the available charging windows also matter. Ask which combinations the manufacturer supports for the selected truck.

Avoid assuming that a headline charging time applies to every battery and charger. Request the expected arrangement for the exact package in your quotation, including any operating or maintenance instructions.

Check the charging location and electrical supply

Identify where the charger will be installed, the electrical supply available and how the truck will access it. Confirm the installation requirements with appropriate qualified advice and the equipment supplier before the machine arrives.

Include cable routing, protection from vehicle movements and the site’s charging procedures in the planning. A truck delivery date alone does not confirm that the charging point is ready.

Include support and warranty terms

Ask the quotation to identify the truck, battery, charger, delivery and any installation responsibilities. Check the written warranty terms and the maintenance requirements for the selected package.

For a replacement truck, explain what charging equipment is already on site. Compatibility must be confirmed; do not assume an existing charger is suitable because its connector appears to fit.

Build a comparable shortlist

Explore Jungheinrich EFG and AntOn CBH with the same operating brief. IVS can then discuss the equipment and support as a complete package.

If the workload or duration is uncertain, compare hire with a purchase. Use our buying and hire guide to check the scope and commitment of each quotation.
