Pallet truck or stacker?

Start with where the pallet needs to go, then check the load, route and storage height.

Talk to IVS

Moving pallets at floor level

If the task is transporting a pallet between receiving, storage and dispatch, start by comparing pallet trucks. Manual and powered options address different workloads. Travel distance, the number of pallet movements and available turning space are useful selection details.

For powered pallet movement, explore the AntOn PTL 1.5 or Jungheinrich pallet truck families. A low-lift pallet truck is not intended to put pallets into warehouse racking.

Lifting pallets into storage

If you need to place pallets onto a storage level, compare a stacker with other lifting equipment. The nominal capacity is only a starting point: the load weight and centre must suit the truck at the required lift height.

Pallet construction matters too. Check that the pallet entry and the truck’s support-arm arrangement are compatible. For a starting point, explore the AntOn PSM 1.2 and Jungheinrich stacker options.

Considering a reach truck

For racking operations with different height, travel or throughput requirements, include a reach truck in the discussion. The right choice depends on the complete job rather than a single specification.

Send clear aisle measurements, pallet dimensions, maximum load and highest beam level. Include floor condition, doorways and the hours of use. These details help IVS compare options without assuming a larger truck will automatically be a better fit.

Check the route, not just the destination

Walk the complete route and note ramps, thresholds, gradients, loading areas and overhead restrictions. If equipment will be carried on a vehicle or used with a tail lift, confirm the complete weight and loading arrangement before selecting a machine.

Battery and charging arrangements should reflect when the equipment is actually working and when it can stop. Include these details when requesting your quotation.

A useful enquiry starts with six details

Send your pallet type, heaviest load, required lift height, travel distance, daily hours and site postcode. Add a photograph or drawing if the layout is unusual. IVS can then discuss a suitable specification, availability and quotation.

Include planned maintenance and Thorough Examination in the conversation so you understand the ongoing requirements as well as the equipment price.
